I am putting together a stereo system together for my 2004 ford ranger fx4 ext cab. I have a boatload of nos and used mtx thunder amps 3-280's 1-4160 1-240, a eclipse avn6620, a morel hybrid ovation 6.5 set. I was thinking of a velodyne 10 for the sub. I listen to alot of rock, classic rock and metal. I was wondering if the velodyne will be up to the task. I am not looking for full on volume just good sound and seamless integration.

Wow, I guess no one has an opinion. Well anyway the sub search is getting nailed down to a few but I am still not sure. And then I start selling off my old stuff.

I'm surprised as well, but I have only used Velodyne in home theater. Perhaps that's the trouble w/ this thread.

There are a LOT of good subs out there. I'm thinking hard about switching to the Stereo Integrity 12" MAG sub, since it is ideal to the specs I have in mind and reviews quite well amongst peers. But Fi Audio, Image Dynamics, Dayton, etc. are all excellent.

I have been looking at a lot of different subs and have bought a couple. There are so many good subs out there.

But, I figured that's why you haven't received much in the way of a response. Velodyne is one I've not seen used in a car, ever. It might be great though...who knows? We all experiment try to help each other out though.

Well my mind isn't exactly set on Velodyne. I am just wondering what sub is going to be a great all around subwoofer.

Well, I mentioned Fi Audio and Stereo Integrity. Though I've not used the SI (but I'm going with 2 of them on my next build), I have used the Fi Audios and have recommended them several times, each time to a GREAT result.

I'm sure if you asked 100 of us, you'd get close to 50 different answers about half will go something like, "+1" on someone else's response.
