Hello everyone at the suggestion of some friends here I thought I would post some pics of my Lexus and how it progressed. Little background. I've been a car audio enthusiast since around 1991. My teen years I spent much of my time at a local audio shop learning everything I could and spending every dollar I made 馃槵 Became an Sq judge at 19 and got to travel around and hear some of the greats of the time, probably around 93 or 94. Car that really started the SQ bug was Earl's BMW with the speaker pods that came up from the dash. That thing was amazing! Anyway life got in the way with school and work and although still always interested and had a simple system in most of my cars it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I got the itch bad. I bought a Porsche boxster that had quite possibly had the worse factory stereo ive heard. So it all started with trying to find a new head unit, which then got me searching replacement speakers, amps, dsps lol. I talked with some old friends I had made in the industry and asked who I could trust and Steve Cook's name kept coming up. Im in Birmingham about 2 and a half hours away from his shop. Called Steve, we hit it off and the rest is history. Ended up getting a full system in the boxster and competing in it. Yeah I was the only idiot that showed up at shows in a convertible but it rocked! Well now I'm on my second car and third system since then. So here goes! Here's the car I was working with

First system consisted of morel mt230 tweeters, morel hybrid 4's and morel TI MW9's. Used a Helix P Six on front stage and Helix P Two on a Jl 12w6. It was great I thought and did pretty well in competition. I wasn't going to change anything until a friend offered his Zen 9 to me. This would require a new trunk build but I really wanted to try this amp out. I also had some ideas on changing the pillars so I called Steve and told him we were changing the trunk he had built less than a year ago. Here is what it looked like. Steve and crew really killed it on the install

I had recently bought the dynaudio esotar 430 mids and wanted to get the tweeters to match so that was going to happen in the rebuild as well. 2 days before we were going to start the build with the Zen, Steve threw me a curve and said "hey, let's sell the zen and put some bad ass Tru amps in there instead! " well crap. I thought well this will change the whole layout but I trust him as he's probably won more audio contests than anyone I know so I listed it and sold it pretty quickly. Next thing I know im in touch with Tru and we are deciding on powder coat colors for my new amps. These are the Tru TG Rs-4 for tweeters and mids, TG-RS 2 on midbass and another for the Sub. We went with gray to match the car.

I wonder what modifications they made to that amplifier, different transistors?

Also, I don't know why so people dislike the RC, great looking car.

One of the better looking Lexus IMO.

Saw the latest version at the shop a few weeks ago and all I can say is this install is sick! It's next level show-style. And it sounded incredible with zero EQ. Did some things tonally I'd never heard in one of my demo tracks. That demo sold me on the pairing of the Dyn midrange with the Tru amps. I'm looking forward to hearing it again.

Thanks for sharing Scott

Looking forward to seeing/hearing the RC at finals. As Erin stated - Next level show-style on the latest revision that I've seen elsewhere which I hope you will share here.

PS - I'm calling dibs right now on those Tru amps when your done with them :)

I remember being blown away by this car at Al's meet last year. Very tonally pleasing and one of the cleanest installs I've ever seen. Hope to have some seat time in it here in a couple months. You better make it again this year dude;)

I have to admit, I almost purchased an RCF based on seeing your car at BigAls last year... love the RC and the install that Audio-X did was next level stuff! I also look forward to you hopefully making it to Als again this year! (Peer pressure is real)
