New to me 23 bmw x5 with lame hifi system. Ive been looking at all the match amps, bavsound speakers, bimmertech, audison etc and not finding what I want.

Ideally, need a way to get digital or optical out of the factory head unit. If I can figure out a reasonable way to do that, would like to fit the xcelsus 4" in doors xxt30s in the door location along with center. Thinking a helix v8 ultimate, some decent 8s for underneath and a pair of subs for tire well. Still ironing out and stuck at the output. Any help would be appreciated, I don't mind fabrication and SQL is a must. Im one of 4k to my subs kinda junkie.

Another X5 owner (iDrive 7) from Europe. I decided to go with the Focals too. Morels were crazy expensive (Focals x3). And I only have the Focals in the front and rear doors. Center is stock HK.

Underseats are Match Up 8s. And I have an Audison 10” under the trunk floor.

The Focals sound amazing.
Absolutely no regrets.

I don’t have eway in the car.

My Match Up 10DDP is taking the factory signals from HK. Sounds really, really good. And I have all the factory functions still working (phone, gps, blinker, pdc, fm radio).

Running focal es100ks front and rear, Morel under seat woofers. If i did it again I’d go full morel BMW I/Rs . Not saying the focals are bad. They are quite nice. But very impressed with the morels underseats. Amazing articulate bass !

In addition to the tuning solutions box for about $450 and an SI 12 when they go on sale im looking at the setup in the pic that follows. Curious thoughts on the focals. They are reasonably priced out of Europe but not the higher end ones folks recomend. Are they better than the other two big dogs in the market that cost more and any critics on the mid budget system im putting together?

This would definitely be a really good setup and looking at the prices the Helix stuff is way better priced over there as that V Eight alone retails for $1800USD. Based on the pricing difference I'd look at doing more Helix stuff, like full Ci5/7s as they make the mids and tweeters with Flexmount adapters for BMW. I ran Ci5 8, Ci3 mid and Ci5 tweeter in a recent car and they went well together. Another option over Focal is the Match (like this line MATCH UP C42BMW-FRT.3) which I'm betting might be even less than Focal above.
