It seems most people do midrange speakers in pillars, vented into dash.

I planed to do sealed 1 litter pods for my 3" AP AR3's and i was told it would be better to vented into the dash.

My question is how would these two types of installations perform differently with midrange speakers?

I used a set of Hertz HL70's in a sealed mid that sounded great. I guess it depends on the driver and if you are trying to get ruler flat response or if you can live with it how it sounds.
I guess i just want to know the pros and cons to sealed pods for the Midrange.. I assume the sealed would have a flatter response.

Badboy, is there a relationship with possible resonance issues and drivers playing at higher feqs?

Depends on where you are crossing them at. High enough and it isn't a bother, but at that point I don't see the advantage to using an enclosure unless you have nowhere else to put them.

I've always thought IB midrange sounded smoother and more open compared to sealed but that's just a crude subjective bias I have.

IF you make a small enclosure and notice a high Q peak - cross one octave above it and it will go unnoticed if you use a 12dB/oct filter or steeper. Best is just to vent it somewhere, I usually do that. You could mess with an aperiodic membrane firing into the cabin as well.
