they are actually mids...morel just calls them subwoofers.those are subwoffers, But what i meant was on any mb-quartz brands ?
I know it's possible but above 350, I would star looking at Custom made Woofers/speakers
I'm getting a nosebleed just looking at those prices !It's very possible. Not that I would buy any of them, but there are a number of 6.5" component speakers for $600 or more. I know the MB Quart QSD's were really expensive. Hybrid Audio, some Morels, Alpine F1's, Dynaudio, CDT, Focal and a number of others have prices that high or higher.
Look here for a bunch of sets well over $600.
WoofersEtc.com - The Online Car Audio Super Store, The largest selection at the lowest prices! 6.5"
Can you spend 600$ on 6-1/2 Speakers ??
I had an customer whom just called and he told me he spent 600$ on a pair of 6-1/2 speakers about 2 years ago mb quartz. Is this possible ?????
But any way he has since blown them, He need's replacments the car they would be going in is an convertable, He need some that sound good, but a bit more importantly needs to be loud, IE High dB.
What do you guys recoumend ?
I would say diamonds but they sound good but there db's are only 87, I think.
Okay Update.
They are going into the porsche boxter convertable
In the doors.
He blew The Speakers
He does has an amp Running them and the door.
He need's something Loud well because it's a convertable.
I really don't much else, He has to bring the car over to let me see it.
For the record I am aware of speakers that cost well over 600, But not an MB quartz from 2 years ago.
was waiting for that, LOL If i don't think i can do a job i usally pass them on to my friends audioshopNow..here's where you need to be truthful about all this to us, and don't take this wrongly.... Do you know what you are doing? This is an EXPENSIVE car, and if you make one false move you can damage it badly. Do you have the knowledge and competence (and balls) to work on this car? If not, let one of these guys here suggest a solution that involves less of a risk!
Well these aren't for my car,I won't do Diamonds. I owned them and hated them! Simple as that. They have the same ear-piercing sound that the Quarts have (metal dome models in this example.) The silk ones are...well,...there's better out there but Kudos to Diamond for trying.
The 720's are bassy because they can be, but that's what tuning is all about. Trust me, in a convertible you'll be praising whatever god you believe in that you have the mid-bass these things have. That's the first part to go in an open top car. The tweets aren't too shabby either.
If you are doing the car correctly (compared to when he had them put in), you'll be doing deadening in the doors. Bet you he has NONE right now. Just a hunch.
If just the woofer is blown, consider doing a separate driver in place of components. It is much more difficult to match up to the MB Quart crossover, but if you do your math and get lucky..there's a chance. The other way is to go active on the setup, which will solve a lot of the problems (like blowing speakers) because you can run steep crossover points and be more cautious about it all.
Thoughts?
And i do thank you for thatYou seem very set on Diamond, so I guess you've already made up your mind without any assistance from the forum.
But...
Just try to consider that you are installing for someone who wants the most out of the front end, and the suggestions I've thrown your way are probably exactly that.
Also keep in mind, you are 19...I have a decade of audio sales and installation on you at near 30 (shudder to think about how old I am just now..). Not to put your experience down, but wisdom comes with age on this hobby. If you'll not listen to me, listen to the others on this forum that know their stuff far better than I. I learned from them, after all. Some of these guys have been installing killer setups before you AND I were born. Consider that.
