im looking for for a newer sub that overall is about the same as the old mid 90's kicker c12's.

No. Everything is still built in the U.S.. They lost buisness to China like everyone else and are now attempting to sell direct. Prices are a bit high though. If you have a resale lisc. you should be able to order for wholesale.

price is not my main concern. i just loved the way they sounded back in the day. it seems like a lot of subs now need a **** load of power. while back in 95 a had 2 c12s and an hcca 250 and was more bass than i ever needed.

so these credence are not exactly the same? im trying to remember but i think the basket looks different but im not sure.

I think by 'newer subs' he meant the chinese made junk that a lot of companies have moved to, not the Credence stuff. Kicker C12 never had cast frames anyway.

The equivalent to the C12 (CSC12D4) has a powder coated steel frame.
