After weighing the pros and cons of an active versus passive 2-way component setup, I realize that for my needs (cost and space) it's just best to go active with a 4 channel amp.

Now here comes the controversial part. I would like rear fill.
However, I'd like to not purchase another amp for the sake of cost, but mostly space.
Am I out of my mind to think about using the headunit to power the rearfill speakers?

I think it would be nice for the passengers in the backseat. Perhaps a very efficient 6.5" co-ax could be found for the rear doors and just kept at a very low level?
Am I crazy? Should I run the tweeters off the headunit instead and use the four channel for the four speakers in the doors?

Thanks in advance for all the opinions and suggestions!

yeah, go for it. I've set up systems like that before. Just turn the volume on the rearfill down so it doesnt ruin your stage. A coax would be fine with deck power, just make sure you have something blocking the lower bass freqs so they dont blow.
