I have three jl 300/2's and one of them is doing tweeter duty.

One of them is currently hooked to the mids on my Boston z6 components.

I was going to run another set of boston z6 mids but kind of chickened out of fabricating a dual mount in my doors and cutting up the door panel to allow for a bigger grill.

So since I chickened out I have another option. Under my drivers side seat is a large tub that would fit a large chrysler battery. I measured and I could easily get a half a cube or more. So I could technically relocate my battery that is under the passenger side seat and get space for another enclosure of the same size. The opening is big enough to fit a 10" sub easily.

So would it be a good idea to put an 8 or even a 10 under one seat or maybe even under both seats? It would be strictly there to do upper sub bass duty and to supplement my 13w7 ported with a 30hz tuning freq in the back. I may even tune the 13w7 lower by adding more volume to the enclosure. It is already much more than I need so losing some volume but gaining more earth shaking frequencies would be just fine with me. Maybe I could drop the tuning frequency to like 25hz.

The next option is to simply bridge the 300/2's on to each boston mid for 300 watts to each. I know that these can in fact take this power all day long because I had this setup in a previous vehicle and the z6 RMS power handling is like 400 watts.

So what do you guys think?

If you know for sure they can take it I'd try bridging the speakers. Proper power to speakers can open them up in amazing ways but that depends on if your doors can handle it

For example my Anarchys when I first put them in I bridged my PDX F6 for right around 300 wrms to each driver. The headroom was awesome and the difference between bridged and non bridged was astounding. The low notes were really strong. I've since then un bridged them as even though they could handle bridged I had to keep the gain all the way down and be careful with the level as they were right on the edge of the limit imho. That could have been because they were brand new and needed some time to loosen up.

Keep in mind I'm crossing fairly low. 60hz as of now but these have shown promise to be crossed at 50hz and still take some power as well. Hence why I decided to back off on the power till I can ease into it.

The doors had 6X9 subwoofers from the factory and they bumped pretty good. I would think that the doors should be able to handle the bridged mids. I just want to get big bass up front. I was crossed over at 50 but it was just not authoritative enough to keep up with the sub. I am trying to set up a long term system so I am kind of afraid to do the 300 watts for long term use. I think that the 8's or 10's would give me that long term use without worry of if I am reducing the life of the individual components.
