All hum, No music.....

I just test fired my mids and horns a few minutes ago and didn't hear what I was hoping I would...

I am running (2) D100's bridged on a pair of IDQ6's and (1) D60 in stereo on my horns. Signal is coming from an Eclipse deck to an Image Dynamics DEQ2030, then through an Image IDX-24 to the amps. All I'm getting is a low volume hum, regardless of volume position... The only thing not currently hooked up is the remote volume control on the IDX-24 because I'm not sure how to wire it, but I don't think that would make a difference. Any ideas? :(

Once you get control over the signal you'll be fine;)

Does the HU have an amp ? if so connect wires to a speaker and turn the volume up to see if you have something in the chain not wired correctly.

One of these two may be your problem ~ DEQ2030, then through an Image IDX-24

I agree. Try to troubleshoot both of these. One of these is more than likely bad or you got something mixed up.
Do those units use XLRs or RCAs? If they're XLRs, were they provided or did you make them?

XLRs are real easy to make backwards by accident is why I ask.
Well, I bypassed the eq & x-over and the mids and horns both work fine. I hate to say it, but I think I have a bad x-over... One of my eq's was bad but luckily I have two. Unfortunately I only have one x-over.

And yes, they both use XLR's. I had some made, he's very competent, but anyone can make a mistake so I won't rule that out. He used a diagram that came from Eric at Image, so I doubt that's the problem, but anything's possible...

I got a bad feeling I'm going to be looking for another IDX-24, too bad it took me a year to find this one. :(

I'll give Eric a call in the morning, hopefully it's something simple.

THX guys!

Yes, the head is amplified and is sending signal out to my door speakers. I plan to replace the Eclipse with a Sony CDX C910 once I have everything complete and then remove the door speakers. They're just hooked up so I have something to listen to for now...

Do you mean one of the units is the problem, or how they're chained together?
