Ok, this is weird and I am fairly knew to this. I have played with this system. It's connected to an amp. The weird thing is that the radio sounds better than any CD I put in it. There is a lot of bass and sounds clearer when playing radio stations. When playing a CD the bass doesn't really kick in until I turn it up really lous loud and even when it is loud, it doesn't sound good at all.

Are the Levels even? My pioneer in my pickup can change the default volume on each input separately so u can bump the cd up or down to match levels with fm or am at the same master volume.

That and perhaps your Eq settings are different and it has more boost on the fm input?

I have been in and out of the settings for this system and there are no separating volume controls. The only EQ on the system, just your general bass, treble, balance, fader settings. It does have HPF and LPF, I can hear the difference when setting the HPF, but I can't hear anything different when adjusting the LPF.
