Alpine "Halo" series head units?

Looking to head down to a brick and mortar dealer and picking one up tomorrow. Any compelling reason why I shouldn't? Haven't used Alpine in ages and they seem really nice and also like they'll fit the awkward dash in my Jeep.!

I've heard vague complaints about weird software issues with the halo series. If you search around they'll come up.
