Im looking to buy one 15" sub for now, i have a Kenwood KAC-9106d amp which is rated at 500W rms at 4 ohms and 1000W rms at 2 ohms. Trying to decide between the Alpine sws-15d2 and the Soundqubed HDS215. I mostly just want bass but i do care about sound quality. From what ive seen the Alpine is more about sound quality and the SQ is all about bass. Can the Alpine hit crazy hard? Or is the soundqubed a better choice for bass?

What's your budget? Personally I would go with a type r 15 the older versions I've seen some on eBay really cheap. Alpine subs are junk nowadays

If you just want bass go with the soundqubed, I got the SD3 12 and its slowly killing my electrical system.
I never knew a sub could do that.

I haven't used them but a lot of people praise them. I was pondering their SA series until a relative let me use his 12w7. I think the SA10 is like $150 new. Try looking at CL in your area. Even look out of your area. A lot of people are willing to ship and you can protect yourself by paying through paypal.
Edit: Sorry didn't see that you were looking at a 15.
Just let you know going loud isn't all about the size of the sub. you got make sure you have the right enclosure for the sub. I have heard 10's that got louder than 15's because the guy knew what he was doing.

Solid subs. I've got a EV1 12" in storage (I retired it) and that thing took everything I tossed at it. Went through a sealed, 4th order and 6th order life. Very versatile

DONT go with audiopipe, for the money soundqubed makes an awesome spl subwoofer..With that being said, you could spend a little more money and get a more sound quality friendly woofer, its all about your music taste and what you want.

The audio pipe will give you a lot of bass for the money. With 2 of those 15 i did 148.8 db sealed on the term lab. With a better amp pretty confident they could have hit the 150 mark. They sounded better than a kicker l7, but that's not hard to do. But if your after sound quality then that isn't the sub for you.

Yukon did you used to go to termpro forum? They have it offline now only on facebook it was an awesome forum mainly about box building and SPL? Just wondering it was a very informative forum for spl.

I never did hang around on that forum... stuck with boating forums for the most part lol... I stand corrected, it wasn't that model. It was the txx-ap15bl that I used. But those bd series are pretty similar.
I used to have a wholesale account at a local supplier and they carried audiopipe, so I used alot of their stuff, a few years ago it was great bang for buck, but in the past few years they have gotten more expensive and closed the gap to better brands. But they do last as well. I have friends who still have them after 5-6 years... I will say they really need a custom box though.
