Im getting ready to help my buddy do a speaker install on a 2007 E350. The car currently has the stock navigation unit, ipod connection....etc. He wants to keep the stock headunit and use a aftermarket amplifier and bypass the stock one. What to I need to incorparate the stock hu in this vehicle with a aftermarket amplifier and component system? Also he said something about the car using a fibre optic system.... Any help would be appreciated. This is a learning experience for me. Thanks in advanced

new info, car runs a fibre optics system from the hu to a Harmon Kardon logic 7 system. Would I just be able to add a proccessor after the Hk amp then add the aftermarket amps to that?

unless you can figure out how to use the fiber, placing a DSP or LOC after the HK amp is the only option.
