Hi

I have an audiopipe apsm 1500.1 powering two 12" re audio se-x's (600w a piece) I believe the box is tuned to about 34 hz dont quote me on that. I have the subs wired to a 2 ohm load (apsm says it does 1000watts @ 2ohm). I currently dont have any electrical upgrades (no big 3 or alternator just duralast battery). I havent had the gains set with an dmm so i just set them based on ear.

My problem seems to be whenever I play decaf or any music with really low notes (seems to be anything 28 and under) my amp goes into protect mode for about 2 secs and comes back in, and its not even getting hot. Could it be the gains are set too high and the amp is trying to compensate? or the fact that i dont have the proper electrical for the audiopipe amp? Should i try to find an amp that can put out what the subs are rated to handle (1200w?)

any help you guys could provide would be great thanks!

What fhz is the subsonic filter set at?

What gauge cable are you using for the amplifier?

Have you measure your voltage on the amps terminal to see if you how much voltage drop you may have?

Have you tried setting it a bit higher...

Is the output clipping at all? If it is then the protection circuit is shutting down the amplifier, may have a current sensing circuit after so much current they cut off to prevent damage.
