Alright, so I've been laid off so I have a bit of time on my hands and with some stereo components sitting in my garage I figure I might as well do this. I have a DLS Ultimate Iridium 10" sub in a 4080 enclosure and a set of the Dynaudio System 240 mark ii components for my front stage. I would like to run them passive for now and use only 1 amplifier to reduce my budget. I was looking at the Alpine PDX 4.150 and the JL 600/4 HD amps. Any thoughts on these or others that are in the max range of $800 or less (less preferably).

$800 is a lot to spend on one multi channel amp. You should be able to get most of what's out there for that much. Do you have any size constraints? With only 1 four channel, you should be able to run a class A/B amp no problem. I'm still biased in favor of A/B amps rightly or wrongly.

I don't exactly have any space constraints, the car this is going into is an 06 g35 sedan, so I've got some space, I just don't want to use the entire trunk as I play ice hockey and need some space.

Any suggestions on where to get zapco or audison amps?

If you can wait a bit (might be a while who knows), Zed Audio is coming out with a mighty 6 Channels amp.
6 x 150rms @ 4ohm // price should be in your budget, last I heard it was supposed to be $650

I would also look at the Zapco I-Force also. They have a 7 channel that is pretty flexible.

I second Audison and Zapco. The REF1000.4 would work or you look a the REF650.6.

Here is a link to and info on the 7 channel. The amp is flexible enough that if you decide to go active later you could do a 2-way + sub.

I've never heard a single person complain about Woofers.etc. I've only had the best experiences with them too. If you buy from a brick and mortar store, they will be out of your price range. I would get the Zapco from Woofers.etc and never look back.
