I ran my 4 gauge power cable from the battery to the trunk and found out I am short 3 feet. So here are 2 solutions that I thought of. Tell me pros and cons of each and which is better.

Solution 1 - Use one of those stinger couplers that I found by googling "4 gauge coupler" and add 3 feet to get to the amp.

Solution 2 - Make the wire from the battery to the fuse about 4 ft 6 inches in length instead of 18 inches like I planned.

Or is there a better solution without buying another length of wire to go the length of the car?

Keep the fuse where its at and just buy the coupler. Making the wire before the fuse longer will put the fuse box in a hard to reach area and not to mention other things that can cut through that wire like hood, hinges, heat and you want that fuse to pop if that happens. Otherwise your vehicle will catch fire.

Just make sure you cover up the coupler with electrical tape to make sure it doesnt touch chassis (ground) stuff around it.
