Meh..... I really like the idea of being able to make changes at anytime. Really good deal tho....and i was really considering it. I've had several times when I had a dsp in the cart and almost bought it.....but I'm having a hard time making up my mind. If yours worked with the iphone, I'd be on it.
I believe the person directly responsible for the creation of those 2 devices is Larry Frederick he was the creator of the Phoenix Gold MP and MPS amps he worked for both Cerwin Vega and DiamondI just noticed the cerwin vega has a couple of new dsps and so does diamond audio. Looks like they are the same units just dressed different and the diamond audio is a little more expensive. These actually fit what I'm looking for in a dsp, just wondering if they are worth a poo for a budget unit in a budget system. (it looks like only the 6 channel is currently available but the 8 channel will be soon)

You’re right as always. But I can’t seem to come to terms with spending that much 😳. I’ve been mulling over this for months. Same thing with the mids. I finally ordered some yesterday. As much as I like car audio, it’s not my main hobby $$ focus. I’m into guns, knives and going fast. One of the pistols I just bought, then put a red don’t on it and a trigger….I could have bought a helix. And I haven’t even shot it yet. Probably because ammo is $40-$55 a box. I’ve bought over $300 in ammo for it so far. Yikes.
Hmmm....I agree with all that. But.....**** i would by ten more boxes of 9mm if I had to choose.

I will say, setting your IO, time alignment, crossovers, level matching, is all very easy and quick. That part the DSR1 does quite well and it's intuitive. Adjusting the PEQ just sucks big time. I am not doing a good job if I want to sell this thing am I.
OP basically wants an active crossover and that's it. Helix seems wasted on someone who doesn't actually want to tune their speakers.

Exactly, something simple that i can use as an active crossover with bluetooth controls..... I'm not real worried with anything else. My head unit has time alignment and it works "good enough" for me. I'm not a super picky true audiophile. At least i don't consider myself to be.

I'd like to upgrade from the DSR1 to another OEM integration unit (Mastero AR or something) and then to a Helix or Mosconi DSP. So, would eventually like to sell this thing and complaining about it probably won't help me sell it. If I can't sell it, I'll just zero out the settings and use it to feed a better DSP.

And i agree..... i ran some pink noise and using a calibrated mic, i adjusted my eq to remove spikes and dips as much as I could and the improvement was pretty dramatic....and thats not even close to the "correct" way to do it. I'm not quite up to speed on that, I was reading a writeup on it someone posted here but my computer crashed and I lost the page. I'll go find it when I'm ready. I'm still slowly collecting parts to finish what i started. Car was down for a few months so i didn't really care much to mess with stereo when its not running....but I got it back going so i'm interested again. The car is a turbocharged, built motor GTO that the prime objective "was" to go fast. Its fast enough at this point (for the street, it'll walk sideways on me at an 80mph roll on drag radials) Now I'm working on making it quieter, more comfortable and more enjoyable to drive. I probably should be doing all this to my daily driver, but the stereo actually sounds pretty good from the factory except it could use a little more bass.
