I'm thinking about getting a dsp for my system. Are they worth the extra money or is it just being lazy and still not getting good sound

i also thing its the most important piece you can have. my ms-8 did wonders for my car especially because i dont have a clue about how to tune..definitely a must in my opinion

I am using heavily modified custom dsp and it help me a lot to get the "right" sound in my car.

Depends how you want your system works...
KISS system you won't be needing it while a complicated system you will need it....

As much as proper speaker install/placement. Along with correct sound deadening treatments. All three are a fundamental foundation and skimping on any of them while doing something like buying a $500 component set is just plain wasteful, unless of course what you want is only for it to be LOUD.

Poll added, and yes. Even if it's just for the advantages of not using passive crossovers. Allows for raw drivers, variable slopes and points, etc.
