Hi guys
just bought a atoto s8 premium double din android unit

i have a 2018 vauxhall vario van

ive bought a connect 2 unit from ebay which come with a patch lead so i can keep my steering controls but i didn't know you have to mod it yourself depending on the brand of radio...

as mine is classed as chinese i cant see anything in the instructions

on the patch lead there is a small jack and there is a port on the back of the unit for a wireless remote to be connected however people are saying not to use this jack...

can anyone give me any advice or

THe more premium headunits like this one in Atoto dont have a typical small 3.5mm jack for steering wheel controls. They end up using a resistive mechanism which is done by those two wires key 1 and key 2. I know in my car the steering wheel adapter aswc-1 has the ability to do either the 3.5mm jack or the resistive style. It requires an adapter to be placed on that jack that breaks out into 2 wires. Axxess ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Adapter
You can see the adapter in this link for example. Of course the ASWC I have would also need to be programmed to a unit which is compatible with the Atoto as well which I could get from the maker.

Onthe last image the 2. is what you are looking at. Those two resistive wires are what likely connect to the key 1+2 harness you have.

I had that SWC installed for the factory head unit, but My Atoto S8 just worked with the steering wheel controls, no additional hardware needed. There are also some SWC settings in the menus if I remember correctly.
