I've got 3 of these hiding in my closet waiting to be installed. The thing is, my car is an 03 civic, so space is a bit unforgiving. Have any of you heard these subs in an IB setup? The Qts. is .42, which I've read where a much higher Q is prefered. Saying that, Eric at ID said it's better to have a lower Q:confused:.
Is this just a small part of the equation? Does motor strength play a big role also?

There are different ways to skin a cat. You certainty need a low FS. There are two approaches you can take. You can use a low QTS with a lot of Xmax and use EQ to compensate for the quick roll off. Or you can use a driver with a High QTS (.7+) to get a response well down near the FS of the driver.

The latter generally limits your selection to drivers with a small xmax. My advice is if you are set on going IB with 12 inch drivers, do the install and try it. If you got a lot of excursion to work with (and obviously a lot of cone area), you should get plenty of output. If they don't work for that particular alignment, sell them and try something else :)

I've done some recent searches... I just don't remember anything about Qts except it should be high. If Qts isn't that big a concern if there is a high Xmax(20mm) & low Fs(22hz) then I should be ok?

For an IB, doesn't the suspension need to be VERY stiff? So, CMS would matter, right?

Cms on the MASS is .30, I'm not too knowledgeable on that spec. Is that high or low?
