I picked up an audiopipe ap1800.1d amp. I bought 2 15" powerbass 2xld4 subs and got the amp for next to nothing. I have seen some tests on their
Monoblocks and they seem to do ok. I will probably put my 5 channel jbl amp into my wife's car now, so I will end up getting new amps for my highs. Anyone used audiopipe's 2 and 4 channel amps? They are budget friendly and will all match on the amp rack. Anyone have experience with these? How's the sound quality?

They are budget friendly amps thats about it. They do close to rated power, some have some pretty funky looking clips when you do hit a soft clip with an Oscope. If you aren't looking to drive them hard and don't expect them to last forever you should be ok. A better place to ask for opinions would be CACO.

I have had my 1500D for quite some time now, actually the third one I have purchased. I had it driving everything from 2 crossfire bmf's to 2 ppi pro's, to one Audioque SDS2.5, now it is on a SoundQubed 12" SDC3. To be honest it did way better and was way more efficient at it's Max rated 2 ohm load, the 1 ohm load works good, but you can tell it is hard on the amp unless you are running lower rated speakers, But all in all for around 160 shipped I have been very happy and it is on its 5th year of service in my daily driver, with the big 3 and an HO alternator you should be very fine, just don't expect to much musical quality out of it at 1 ohm.

Hmm, well I'm definitely looking for music quality. And it will be at 1 ohm if I run both 15's. Right now I'm running one of the 15's off the mono section of my jbl gto5ez and it sounds great. I don't want to lose that sound quality. I was going to get a second jbl gto 5ez. Run one sub on each. And use the other channels for my highs. Maybe I need to reconsider. I'll try it and see how it goes i guess.

Well I say sound quality like if you are running a real high end sub in a sealed box, pushing 2 15's it should sound great, as long as the amp isn't clipping when you turn it up loud you should be fine. I ran mine on 1 ohm on the 2 sub set ups I wrote down earlier and they all sounded great, but now that I have it at 1 ohm on a single 1200 watt RMS subwoofer, lol it is beating the hell out of my electrical system, so it is very possible it is not the amp. Plus 5 years and the amp still pushes the hell out of stuff, I would go for it.

I swore up and down when I had the audioque in a 3.5cu ported box tuned around 40hz it sounded amazing and very musical considering the price I paid for the audioque, and never got hot, trunk mounted in texas well over 100 degrees in the summer, I couldn't ask for a better sub amp. I think its just that I really need to do more upgrades to my electrical system or put the audioque back in. Are you going to run them in a sealed box? if so it should be real efficient on them 15s I don't use the bass boost knob either, I think that deffinetely gives it a cleaner sound.

Right now I'm running one in close to 5 cubic feet ported box. I might put a second hole on it, seal it up and try both sealed on the amp. I know how it sounds in a large ported box. I'll experiment sealed. Then build my final box whichever way I prefer

Hooked up the audiopipe tonight to one 15 at 2 ohms. Definitely a noticeable power bump over the jbl. Still taking it easy on the brand new sub, not wanting to overdue it. Although I've never really worried about breaking in subs before. I couldn't bring myself to cut up the box and add the second sub, seal It up and see how it does on both subs at 1 ohm. It is just sounding so good in that big ported box I'm not really seeing a reason to try anything else. I'll try it out awhile and maybe just build a second matching box for the second one. Can't wait to hear the pair

My oldest son has two Audiopipe amps in his '11 Lancer, and for what they are, they sound pretty good.

His monoblock is the AP-10001D running two Fosgate P3D410 (not the newer P3D4-10) 10" subs at 1 ohm. The 4 channel is the AP-1004, 50 watts RMS x 4 chnnls @ 4 ohms.

He's had them since ~2009 or maybe 2010 in his '99 Cavalier, then transferred them to the Lancer last year. We did have to send in the monoblock to get fixed under warranty, though, about 3 months after we installed it. It wasn't difficult. We had to pay for shipping to and from the manufacture, but they just replaced the amp with a new one, no questions asked.

I mean, he's got less thatn $300 wrapped up into both of them, and probably an honest 1,000 watts total (true power). Not bad for as long as they've lasted.
