While the AudioWave CR series are the highest priced automotive amps I’m aware of, by a long way starting around $16,000 for the “cheaper” of the two 2 channel options and around $35,000 for their 4 channel which is basically a pair of the “cheaper” 2 channel boards in one case, comparing them or any other 12 volt amp to any home audio amp doesn’t really mean anything. The environments they are used is are so different that they need to be built differently. Plus, home audio amps range from $200.00 to $200,000.00.
Just like high end home audio interconnects and speaker cables vs car audio cables and wire, they are different because of the environments they are used in. $20,000.00 AudioQuest RCA cables are expensive because of the quality and technology behind the actual wire and how well they transmit the signal without losing any quality, but used in a vehicle next to and around all the other wires, voltages and electric components they would be a complete waste of money because they don’t have the same insulation qualities as a $200.00 set of Stinger cables. Just looking at them you can tell when the AudioQuest cable isn’t much thicker than a #2 pencil while any high end car audio interconnect is at least 2-3 times as thick due to the multiple layers of insulation.
I’ll take Thesis amps, running A class up front and AB elsewhere, or the GZ Reference, Mosconi Zero series, Zapco AP’s…
