If you are just adding a subwoofer and not gutting the whole audio system, it is probably overkill.
A sub amp with speaker level inputs and signal sensing is all you need for your application; just tap the low frequency drivers in your OEM system. Thanks for reply, how else could it be done
I've no answer to your question, but I do have two questions of my own for you, if you'd be so kind...I have just bought an audi A5 with bang & olufsen system. I want to run a JL 12W6 off a Genesis DMA. Do you think the bit1 would be the best way to do that?
Well, I'm not "shocked", but I am curious...I'm also shocked that you would use a DMA for subs when you have a DMX on hand. The DMA is one of the few amps that I still lust after for tweeters. I definitely think a Bit 1 would be overkill just for that.
Kevin, I haven't heard them, but based on what I have read they do seem delectable.Well, I'm not "shocked", but I am curious...
They are extraordinary amps, aren't they...?![]()
Well, I can certainly understand not wanting to part with the amp...Well as per my sig I've been running very high end SQ system for a while now.
I have just bought the A5 and am going over my options. Obviously I can go for the full blown install but to be honest Ive lost my passion for the super complex system.
As a result I am thinking of just using the stock system which is very good with a sub. I think the Velodyne is too special to run in a system like this so thought I would just have a reverse mounted W6 in the boot off a DMA behind a perspex screen or something like that.
Why the DMA and not DMX, because I cant bear to part with it, I love it like a child and I figured 500 RMS bridged would be plenty to run the sub.
