Has anyone played with them? Andre Perrault (e-speakers.com) has listed a few AC woofers for a while, and I've seen some reviews for their completed speakers in the British press, but my interest wasn't piqued until I saw a model Mr. Perrault doesn't list, the AC-250F1D, in the latest PE flyer. If the specs are accurate, this woofer sounds like a really nice alternative for home or large car midbasses. 0.22mH inductance per coil and 8mm xmax!

Yikes, I don't think my Paseo could handle the size of such woofers... though it'd be cool to say I had an all Aurum Cantus set-up.

I find it hard to believe they're getting 0.22mH a coil without a proper motor. Unless, of course, the specs are simply wrong. That they spec a mathematically-impossible Qts is hardly encouraging...

I think the line starts at 130mm (5.25") and tops out at 250mm. Check e-speakers.com or partsexpress.com.

just finished my doors/pillars ( the cosmetic is just okay got tired of sanding lol)

need a few more cans of SEM graphite tonight and I should be done finally

I think I may try the new peerless exclusive 4" and the fostex FE108EZ to compare to my current vifa pl's

I think im going to stick with the XLS since its only midbass, that and it has 10mm xmax

I have yet to go back & audition the DLS IR8 again... I just recently found out where the vehicle sits (local shop) so I may go over there very soon...

But I'll tell you this... after a few weeks of tweeking & lots of referrence material, the XLS kick major ARS!!! Tons of impact & output... def put to shame the old OZ200L I had & I tied that DLS vehicle in pts when I competed a few months back, with the OZ CS130 mids & 200L subs as midbass...

So I am feeling pretty confident in saying the XLS are going to be as good if not best the IR8 in midbass...

lol thx man I figured as much just on the brief in house free air testing I did off my computer amp

just need to finish the paint job thats all, trying to find the texture paint local is taking forever


cant wait to get all this stuff in geeeez 4wks of hell and the darn things still dont look perfect

next molds I do are going direct to the upholstry shop

The 8's sure "look" nice, but with such a low Q i would certainly forget about it if you're considering using it in an IB app... The Q is just too low, that thing just screams port me... lol
