Basic Truths For Doing Mobile Audio

It occured to me today that in order to "do" great mobile audio one must be in the correct frame of "mind". So here is a list of truths that you either subscribe to (and do great mobile audio) or don't (and need to get there in order to do great mobile audio):

* boss = woman
* slave = man
* captured = married/have girlfriend
* liberated = divorced/lost girlfriend
* recaptured = remarried/new girlfirnd
* to preach = to give a car audio advice
* open mind = ready to learn about car audio
* to exist = to do car audio
* to die = to stop doing car audio
* trivial being = someone who does not do car audio
* to arrive = to buy a car without any car audio in it
* to leave = to buy a car with a factory system good enough not to replace
* noise = people talking while you're trying to listen to car audio
* poison = rational decisions about expenive car audio
* invisible trolls = little buggers who hide your tools, accessories, components and snipe every good car stereo deal you've ever found.

heres some more relevant stuff....
whats the big 3?
how does the big 3 help me?
do i want active or passive?
the "which is the best myth"...on all fronts.
please evaluate my system...(dont ask, how do we know what you want out of it?)
feel free to add....
Yes - and here is how I would relate those:

Fundamental #1 = The BIG 3
MA Intelligence = Knowing why the BIG 3 is so important
Going Active = One giant step for MA...
Myth = Things that only make SQ improvements in the owner's head
"Omniscience" = Knowing the right questions to ask those in the know
and
Old School = The same SQ at 1/4 the price

These are great additions, any more? ...I'm thinking not many (others) are getting the "jist" of this thread... :D

Great wisdom. Many thanks.
Miserable = Me, when wife is PMS
Happy = Me, when I find a shipping box on my doorstep. Bonus when it is at lunch time. Go back to work happier.
Joy = When I opened my new DIYMA sub this week.
Music = Life

Live every day as if it were your last!

ADD: :rolleyes:

when you are quoted more than once on DIYMA in rocking the boat = DIY Nirvana... :cussing: :stir: :poke:

& yes the Band sucks ass & has NO tangible bearing on the progress of music...

haha wiseguy. you know where im going with this. i wasnt actually asking those questions...just laying the groundwork for a more productive line of questioning.
Nice... excellent additions - each hitting home on a personal experience true MA enthusiasts have had (although I'm still waiting for my turn at DIY nirvana) :D

Exactly, and without question that was my understanding too. I was "jisting" about the fact that others were not chiming in. Maybe they will now... :D

Thought - maybe these could all be be combined into a "Terms of Reference" list - then we could all speak in "code" to one another. Although if we did this we would also have to claim ourselves to be the group of All-Time Nerds , relinquish any self-dignity we may have had, as well as any hope of ever getting laid again...

im with you...but we both forgot the quintessential DIYMA motto... "if it ain't broke, fix it to death.....hahaha
I read this to WIFE -- we had a discussion about the price of my new Power 1000 yesterday -- I have found it is " Easier to get forgiveness than to get permission "
Funny: laugh:

Translated:

Obsessive Compulsive = Even if your MA audio ain't broke, fix it to death anyway.

or maybe it's:

Type "A" Maximus = Even if your MA audio ain't broke, fix it to death anyway.

It's likely a combination of the two...

And this one I'm certain of:

MA Audio Man's Last Resort = It's easier to beg forgiveness than permission.
