I do have an iPhone 16. Here is what I would like to be able to do.
I just got an SMSL PO100 2024, and I want to be able to run CarPaly on my Kenwood DDX9907XR
with the SMSL connected to my iPhone through coax to my Helix DSP3.S

I also have a Samsung S25 Ultra. I had been using the Samsung using Apple Music, but the audio is ****e and I get little
output to my left side 3-way set up. On CDs and my iPhone, the sound and output is correct.

what you first wrote is the best compromise of convenience and the best sq… use your iPhone! 👍🏼

 

I have had trouble logging into my Apple Music account on my M11 Pro, so I just use the platform for casual listening/finding new music when I'm at home or out & about. For songs that end up on my rotation or that I can't find on streaming platforms, I just download them onto the micro SD card. I have tried streaming from my iPhone through the SMSL adapter but I'm not too big a fan because of the occasional buffering and glitches. I imagine it would help to download the songs in Apple Music, but I don't have enough storage.

 

This morning was the first time I tried using the SMSL, and my iPhone didn't wirelessly connect to my HU. When I plugged
the phone into the SMSL, my phone asked if I was using headphones or another device.

 

When I went to lunch, I tried it again, and my iPhone connected wirelessly, and I was able to run it through the SMSL.
The one function that didn't work is volume up and down on the HU or with steering wheel controls. I can skip songs
back or forward. I have a Director, so I can control volume with it.

 

When using iphone through smsl to digital input u need to use conductor/ director for volume. Interesting that u can do wireless carplay with smsl for sound. A lot of guys use carplay for daily use and ipad to smsl for gtgs and comp.
