My old Altec Lansing ALS-693 3-way ovals can be bi-amped by the looks of it.

What do I need to take into account ?

First I'd need to break the connections between the two positives and two negatives on each speaker, right ?
Then I'd need to solder the right wires (tweeters/mids) to the right connections ?
Would there be an impedance change ? I mean the speakers are 4 ohms I suppose, but when driving the cones and two pairs of tweeters separately, would they then be 8 ohms or 2 ohms each or just 4 ohms ?

The capacitors that serve as passive high pass would still be in operation for the tweeters, meaning if my crossover does not go higher than 200 Hz high pass they'd still be filtered and protected for harmful low frequencies, right ?

Thanks.
