Need some help/input from some of the Old guys on here ;)

Here's the system, Alpine 7998/PXA-H700/DHA-S680.Wanting to add at least an Auxiliary hookup for playing files through the system with my phone via 3.5mm jack or Bluetooth even.

What add on devices from this era are needed. KCA-410C V-Link?

if it were me I'd get a bluetooth receiver and get a 3.5mm to Y adapter to plug into that Alpine KCA. They have cheap bluetooth receivers these days. I work for a company that manufactures one if your interested look up GoAdvanz M-510 on amazon. we are currently working on an updated version with a Toslink connection

Sticking with these components, need options for this gear.

Get the KCA-410C......it's all you need. I have the same head unit and same processor. The KCA-410C and it works flawlessly....still using it. It has 2 aux inputs...so you could add Bluetooth receiver "and" 3.5mm to RCA input and switch between the two....that's what I do. It also has a very nice input level control so you can level match the inputs.

If you just want to go alpine bluetooth the kce400bt has worked for me flawlessly...you can find em fairly cheap on ebay....i scored mine for 250 bucks around 12 months ago...its older technology now...it doesnt stream in aptx if you have a compatable device...i stream my galaxy s4 music through the alpine unit(lossless files) and the degredation of the quality is not bad at all.the galaxy phones are aptx compatable so am hoping alpine will bring something out or if anyone in here could help could it be done with a firmware upgrade? With that i mean would something like that be possible? Or would it have to be a new unit?

I agree with ewffan, the KCA-410c can switch between 2 of the 4 inputs. 2 are ainet and 2 are RCA. I have (2) KCA-420i connected to mine. One has an ipod Classic plugged in constantly in the trunk. The other is for my iphone4 if I want to play music off pandora, spotify or YouTube and charge my phone at the same time. I can't remember the usb drive model Alpine made but I have read nothing but bad things about it. I am not familiar with the KCE 400bt as it is not supported by the Intravee that ties my ainet devices to my OEM system.

Here's what I have just recently purchased. I think I done alright based on pricing of others currently listed but I'll let you guys be the Judge.

New Alpine KCA-410C $90 bucks
Alpine KCA 410C | eBay

New KCA-100BT
Alpine KCA 100BT Bluetooth Interface | eBay

And I also found the connection diagram I was looking for in the 100BT manual for connecting the "New" System out.
