My wife just leased a 2014 BMW 435i for Christmas with the premium Harmann Kardon system. Predictably it sounds less than premium. Since we're leasing I'm not doing any major surgery. Also don't want to invest a great deal into it as this thing costs a crap load anyway.

The standard upgrade is the Bavsound speaker kit. Looks well made and drop in but I can't help but wonder if there's better for similar effort.

If anyone knows the amp specs and crossover settings that would be super helpful. You can't control speaker levels individually so it's not as easy as setting a dsp.

lower 10k by -2 or so. lower 100 by -2, 200 by -7 or so. then bump general bass up by 5 or 6. this seems to really help response.

Thanks! My wife is from Munich so there was pretty much only one make she was considering. My first foray into German cars. Damn everything is a lot more than the Hondas that I'm used to.

tbomb - thanks, I'll try that. Midrange response is weak.
