Im going to install my new head unit, when i get done work... and it says i have to take the pink wire and attach it to the brake, so when the brake is on its grounded.

I saw that you can bypass it with a toggle switch, but I was just wondering if I could just ground out the pink wire since it seems to work when its grounded (like the brake, since it only works when its engaged).

I hope this made sense. and thank you

There are others here that are more knowledgeable than I am, but you may want to post the make and model of the HU you're installing for starters.

I have an older JVC dvd HU, and yes, I was able to merely ground the parking brake wire and bypass the dvd playback safety feature. That said, I do believe manufacturers have become wise to us doing this and made it more difficult if not impossible to circumvent.

I know there are a few software and hardware work-a-rounds depending on what HU you have, but remember (to please the lawyers) ... that driving and viewing dvds is dangerous. :helmet:
