I have some problems with my midbass drivers. They are not flush mounted with the door panel, the sit about an inch behind the plastic grill.

Just for testing, I take out the door panel. Midrange improves a lot, cleaner and louder.
The other problem is that the driver is working near over excursion at high output. (@63hz/18db). The inner door metal panel is deadned but it resonates badly...

The first move will be adding more sound deadner to these panels.

The driver behaves as asking for a smaller enclosure, not liking the IB setup.
It gets near overexcurtion with [email protected] amp.

Im looking after a creative solution.
What do you thing about building some kind of AP enclosure venting inside the door?
It will add some backpreasure to the driver...
