Now if only class D amps would catch up with aesthetics. They all seem to have this boring stackable drink coaster look. Amplifiers should look as badass as they sound.
Well, the reason class D amps look like that is because they can be small enough and stackable.

I have moved on from the class a/b amp years ago. I certainly think there are some super high end class a/b amps that you would be able to tell, but for me and the price points I deal in, wont notice it. For 98 percent of guys unless they just bought some flea market stuff, wont notice the difference. I also dont miss the space taken up and the current draw of class a/b. Dont get me wrong, there are still a few old school amps I would just like to try for nostalgia sake, but really wouldnt want to daily them. I know a shop owner that has been sitting on a pair of super large PG 4 channels. I forget the model numbers but they are something like 250 x 4 or gold old school class a/b with the pretty PG clear bottoms. I would love to try them even though both are as long as surfboards.

It's just a shame that a company like JL makes great amps that can twin as my Mac Mini. The technology is there now just start making it look prettier and less clinical looking.

Just sharing my own personal experience with the class d amps I have tried and heard. The Mmats hifi are trash , JL vxi and helix amps sound great. Just my opinion and the 3 amps I’ve ran recently.

MMATS are trash doesn't vibe with many others on DIYMA. What issues did you have with the MMATS and did you get the company involved to try and address your issues? I’ve been planning to order MMATS amps in a couple months when I start my build.

Yes, please elaborate on your comment about the Mmats being trash?
Looks like he had a bad experience with a particular MMATS amp that soured him on the brand. Peep post #23 here:

Maybe hide them behind a panel then?

Which is hilarious as I got my amps based upon looks, so my hypocrisy is pretty bad.

Peep the design of the new NCore Biketronics amp in the middle. But the point of Class D is to be small, inconspicuous, and not seen per se.
Awesome, old school Reference 604. This was the amp to own, a bunch years ago👍👍👍 God, I'm old...lol
