I've seen some say they run a power wire for the radio directly to battery and have had good results with removing noise. Any negative side effects in doing this?
That is fundamentally incorrect. Run power wires near your RCA's, you could get noise. There is a member on this very board that corrected his noise problem by rerouting the power wire from the harness to the battery ...
But thanks for not answering the question and providing an opinion on noise ...
Don't know if it has anything to do with noise, but I ALWAYS run both my power and negative directly to my battery from my HU. Done 5 DIY installs in different cars, none of them have had noise issues.
