I've got a Honda Ridgeline in route. I'm doing GB15/60 up front, GS62 rear fill. Might put a GS25 in the center. Helix V Eight for DSP and power. The stock sub is an 8" in a plastic .5 cuft box behind the rear seat back.

The rear seat design is very clever the way it can be lifted flat against the seat back leaving an almost flat cargo area. There's very limited space behind the seat back and can't find a single example of anyone building a box for that space, but I'd love to do it and put one of my BM MKV's back there. Not likely.

Some owners have simply replaced the stock sub with a shallow aftermarket 8" and a small amp. Mounting depth is about 3-3.5". Some of them had to reinforce the box to keep it from resonating. I'm battling whether to keep the function of the rear area and just reinforce the box and put in a Kicker, Pioneer or RF shallow 8".

Has anyone been successful with a single 8"? I currently run a 12" shallow PE sub in my Sport Trac and its very capable for my simple system. Just wonder if an 8" can really keep up with the AF's/Helix setup. There's plenty of space under the rear seat for 2 standard depth 10" subs. 😲

Thanks for the mention,

Yes, I'm using the Audison APS 8D Sub and it pounds the bass out in my Honda Passport, custom mounted into a rear cubby, powered by 500w @ 4ohms Amp View attachment 323836

Man I thought I hunted down every shallow 8" in the universe and somehow missed this one. Opens wallet.

Edit....since I was going to use 2 channels of the Helix V8 to each VC I was looking for D2VC's to squeeze 240 watts to the sub. Might have to rethink that.
