Hi all,

I tried searching this area for some mention of a CF vinyl, but didn't come up with anything...

Could someone point me in a direction to get some good CF style vinyl?

I'm thinking it's the best route for what I'm doing with my car.. I have some micro-fiber suede like material, but it doesn't stretch at all... so it's not gonna work so well..

TIA....

Aaron..

They have stores all over the country. They have pretty much anykind of material you could imagine... they have samples availible if you need, lots and lots of samples...

So, I just got off the phone with them (the Denver location) and Keith hasen't worked there in 2yrs...lol... He's in Vegas now I guess, same company, different location...

They do have CF type vinyl, but it's a single stretch... is that what you used?

I asked for a sample and they directed me to the Toleto OH store...:mad:

I think I found a place "somewhat" local to me, only 60mi away... lol... Good thing I work 40mi in that direction...

I looked up this local place and it happens to be almost across the street from a deli we sometimes go to for a long lunch.. lol.. I guess I never noticed...

I got some CF "like" vinyl from perfectfit.com. Nice high quality stuff. I don't really know what the going rate this stuff is but it was something like $14 per yard. It showed up in a few days and, like I said, it was good quality.

I used this stuff on my door panels, and I really like it. It was very stretchy and easy to work with. It also appears to be quite durable, cheap and looks great!
Carbon Fiber Soft "Black"
This company also has some other CF vinyl, but I bought this one which is cheaper just as a "gamble", but love the results.

I know that he was there exactly 1 year ago... thats besides the point... it is not single stretch unless they changed... it was 4-way stretchable and I did use the CF vinyl... What do you mean "THAT" guy... as if I am a bad dude with a bad rep or something?

Sorry! I guess the fact that I wanted to get rid of the gym short material on my door panels isn't good enough for you. I actually used real carbon fiber at first, but didn't like it, so I tried the cf vinyl. Verdict = good enough.

Naw man, nothing like that, I just remember your posts on NASIOC... I didn't realize till I took a good look at your Avatar that you were in fact, THAT guy.... lol...

Thank you.... When you say good quality, what do you mean? I'm looking for something that is a 4 way stretch, looks very much like CF and isn't 30$ a yard....

I looked at some yesterday and it was "ok" but it was a 2 way stretch, which I could "make" it do whatever I want, I just don't want to distort with the heat gun...

I will definitly have a look... If you started with the "real deal" and went to this, I would have to say, that's gonna rock...!! Thanks..!!

Awe Chad Chad Chad, what are we going to do with you.... lol.... Just cause your car is envyous, no need to hate.... Besides, what do most "race" cars contain anymore?? Carbon Fiber...

Seeings how i'm mixing Race with Sound... how could it possibly be RICE....

Now, if you put it YOUR car, THAT would be rice.... I mean it can hardly get out of it's own way.... lol...:D:eek::D:eek::D

It's been a while but most of the shops I know used to get it from select products from back in the days...

Select Products - Car Audio Installation Materials
I thought about SP, but i've always been under the impression they are really expensive, i'll have a look though... thanks man..

Bailey's..???

way to be open minded chad.
the texture is very seducing. its a shame you associate a material with a sub-culture.
flat black paint = hot rod or is that rice now?
n_n

LoL, smakdown... lol..
