300aH outa handle anything i throw at it.
I still have my 2 large AGM from Optima and XS Power, But one may go.
I have a 500Amp isolater, And a Ioxus super cap bank.
I dont think i need a bigger alternator until i get my wall installed.
The lithium charger in the pics is the coolest, it can act as a power supply with 120amps so i dont have to run my car when im sitting and configuring my DSP. And will charge at a rate of 120amps, But i need bigger alligater clamps.
The headway batteries is dollar for dollar unbeatable.
i have $450 in the 96aH which is the large one.
And $200 is the smaller 64aH one.
While the XS Power yinglong bank is around $1k

It may be spring before i get good enough weather to install the wall, As i have electronics where the wall will go.
I still cant get a darned Balancer to work right, And they arent cheap. Its no big deal until i install everything.
that just gives me more time to research and learn more.

You know me, Im always ball deep when i go in.
I may not have needed so much, But it became a hobby in initself.
I have a line of credit at DFS and kept thinking i needed a bank of the competion cells. But thats just overboard and expensive.
Winston cells if i had known about these before building this wall i would have went with them. About the same price as what i built, but much more space saving.

I think i have all the equipment laying around waiting for install to build a pounding home system.
I thought i had pics, But i have 1 of a kind plexi bottoms for my SALT amps. The SALT4 and SALT 1700.5 from Loud Af! Custom laser cutting and engraving, signs, awards, swag. He does some really good work.

I love that....I wish I understood building lithium banks as completely as a lot of you do...I'd like to build a moderately sized one for myself to allow for stress free playing and to possibly be able to demo without needing to have my car running and ****.

I loved my SALT 4 when I was running it. I almost wish I would have had a need for it to keep it but i'm cool with the direction I'm going now.
Excuse the ignorance, but what is this even for? In case your power goes out?
It's to power a high powered systems and to use subwoofers as Rockets 🚀 so when you want to travel to the moon.

Nice setup!
Headway FTW! 17 civic with XS 5100 and 24ah headway is amazing on 2k. Voltage stays within .1v at idle while hammering on it. 3 way, front sub, and 18 IB

No, its for when Columbus Ohio has a blackout. I can just flip my isolator on and relight the city again.

Serioulsy tho, i have 10k watts ready to install cause im a basshead and this will allow my car to run big amplifiers.
I dont listen to rap or hip hop, But Metallica and 80’s rock give you a great body message. Its like having a kick drum in my back seat.

Im not super smart, even tho i do have an EE background from the 80’s. But most of the info can be found on YouTube.
What isnt there and hard to figure out is balancing boards that keep your cells all close to the same voltage.
In the last pic i posted is my new charger/power supply. It helps to have a spare battery in the trunk, But it puts out 120 amps and while hooked to your battery it can allow you to run your system and keep it charged without running the engine. Thats what sold it on me also.
Charger/power supply
And just because you have high power doesnt mean you cant have sound quality at the same time.

I dont much care for the PCB headway setup,so i may get more of Jim’s machineworks buss bars and make that setup the same size as the large one as im only 8 cells away from having enough. Other than that im done with batteries as for one im runnning out of room. And secondly my alternator can only charge this much before needing an upgrade.

a good cheap setup is helped alot by the supercap bank i have pictured, yes those are safe. Just dummies gave them a bad name. And Ioxus is still in business and did a few changes so dummies stop burning up their cars.

I was looking at getting one of those pcb bus bars, what dont you like about it? Im only trying to power 3k
I sent Jim at jimsmachineworks a message to see if i can get a 16 spot 128aH and do away with the pcb from jag35.
i dont feel even the 1000 amp board i have will be able to handle even 500 amps, his 500 amp pcb id seriously in question To me. This is just me, but it is my car and my azz.
Jehu im sure is a great guy but ive seen youtube tests he did running high amps in his boards and the middle got rather hot. Watch his videos as he has them on the site or you tube of the tests im referring too.
when i built the output cables on my charger ((The charger i linked above) doesn't come with any. I started with 0 gauge into 4gauge adaptors and terminated with 8 gauge wire and clamps. The reason i mention this the 8 gauge wire got rather warm at 50 amps. 120 amps would have melted it.
Amperage is no joke.
Tomorrow i have full sized car clamps coming from Amazon and it will terminate on the 0 gauge power wire. So no more worries on my end.
May I ask where you sourced your headway cells from? I truly think I am going to incorporate this into my rebuild
Batteryhookup.com is the best place, they are used and barely cycled as Lifepo4 can be be cycled thousands of times.
plus tey are $5 a piece there, any other place is 2x-3x that price.
you could buy the superbeast which is what they call the modules they get the cells from, its 24v naturally but they show you where to cut and make 2x24 cell packs that are 12v.
Thats to cheap way in.
but even if you buy jims 96aH bars +-$170 its still the cheapest litium buck you can get.

Get as isolator while your there as its 500A and commercial grade and half the price of any place like Amazon
Most people who buid these for car audio dont use BMS as you would need a 500 Amp one and thats crazy expensive. Just get a good balancer like this:
i Just got 3 of those in for my modules. i liked them as you can use it on 4S,5S,and 6S which is about the most we would ever need. Get Heltek brand if possible, they are highely respected in the Solar panel batttery world.
i did some mods, i got to take a small video to show it off.

I appreciate that...thank you
So, I have 24 of the cells sitting in my cart....is that overkill? I'm not planning to run more than about 2500 watts. I have a 270a alternator and an AGM battery with big 3 and all of that. I'm really just trying to have enough to avoid dips and ensure that I'm getting plenty of sustained voltage no matter the circumstance
NP, i had very little help when i started, and im just learning still. But ill help alll i can.
Dont confuse headway cells- The $5 ones im talking about with LTO cells which are much larger and much more expensive. My LTO “Yinlong” modual is ony 12 cells and cost about $1000 and 80aH
But the headway $5 cells have just a tad more capacity at 96aH was about $500

last night while i was doing some modding i had my wire accidentally short a cell and it melted the wire almost an inch in just a fast second. The power of any either Headway, or LTO is strong enough to weld with and thats just 3.2v but its the amperage thats the danger.

Imo id also get an Ioxus supercap at B-Stock Ioxus UC31 Smart Super Capacitor XS Power thats just me.
But 64ah is a good place to start. Thats 32 cells 4x8=32
them get jag35’s 1000amp pcb. Its half the price as jims and you may want to expand later
$109 for his 64aH buss barrs

So in short, I need the cells....the balancer....the buss bar.....what else? I'm trying to lay this out as simply as possible for myself so I can budget things out.
Get the isolater from batteryhookup.
other than that you may want a case or something to set your module on as it will be bare under there lol
LAF.com is the place if your not on a budget, but if you are just measure your module and order a cheap plastic battery holder from amazon. They have alot to choose from.
if you like sometime “SHOW OFF” give me a minute and ill post my video.

What i did was overkill lol
but id start at 64aH and 32 headway cells. So you can use the Jag35 board.
Being cheap can make for a hot situation.

im waiting to here back from jimsmachineworx as im gonna get out of the pcb based modual. Too many amps in my system and i feel thats a weak spot. But for 98% of the normal people it should be ok.
