Clicks, Pops, alternator whine

Just getting a new KDC-X994 into the dash with a Metra 99-3303 kit.

While I was waiting for the kit I had the HU in the back connected with the amps and cross-overs sharing the same ground and power connections, etc.

As soon as I moved it up front I noticed an increase in hiss (I never heard ANY with the HU in the back). And today when I drove it for the first time I get a pop when I hit the brakes, or have a windshield wiper come across, turn signal cancel etc.

Also I notice alternator whine now as I rev up the car with the volume all the way down.

Is the normal fix to take the ground OUT of the factory harness connections and try straight to the chassis, or some other ideas?

Sounds like a bad earth in the dash loom, run a seperate earth off the back of the unit and try again.
