I haven't heard of a cobalt magnet subwoofer. I think Alpine made some mids from cobalt magnets, but that is about all I have seen. Is there such a thing as a cobalt magnet subwoofer? Might be shooting in the dark here, but curious if anyone had ever heard of one. If so, it would weigh a lot less than a normal sub. Let me know if anyone has seen one.

There are magnets which do have cobalt in it. They are called AlNiCo (Aluminium - Nickel - Cobalt) magnets. Very rare magnets because they are expensive.

Used in home audio by Tannoy Prestige series loudspeakers, PHY-HP, SEAS. In car audio I have seen AlNiCo magnets in Phass components

AlNiCo magnets are very common, but a pure cobalt magnet is very uncommon, and I'm pretty sure that the cost would be excruciatingly prohibitive.
