does anyone know of a four channel amp that is compatible to this and not as long?
this may just sway me enough to see if I can get enough money out of the Barabara Ann to pick the song up. Thank you for all the info. Greatly appreciated. Most amps are rated power at 40hz
By the time you start using crossovers at higher frequencies it starts reducing the power midrange speakers and tweeters will actually get pretty dramatically.
Most tweeters will never see anything above 5-10 watts. Audio frog wrote an article on this.
If you don't belive me measure the voltage at 40hz with an o scope and set your amp gains. then go set 5k high pass filter and measure the voltage out. It will be greatly reduced.
Also when we are setting gains we are using a test tone say 40, 80 hz.
When we play Music it will almost will never reach the power watts we think we are actually sending to the speaker.
There is nothing wrong with the us acoustics Barbara Ann. It is actually a nice amp.
My only issue was space in my tundra. In my son's mustang we had enough room for the Barbara Ann.
Also at a retail of $400 on the Barbara Ann I can get two of the sony xmgs4.
I am running one amp on channels 1&2 to my tweeters
Channels 3,4 bridged to my 6.5 inch
The other sony amp channels 1,2 to my 3.5 's inch. Channels 3,4 bridged to the other 6.5 inch. So for $400 retail for both amps I get all the power I need.
The sony xmgs4 is just a good sounding amp at $200. They just perform.
