Hey so I’m fairly new to this I have family that’s some what knowledge is car audio but none of them have owned a 18 in sub and I need to build a ported box for a Dayton um18-22 but not really sure how big to make it and how big to make the port for room I’m willing to take up all the cargo space in my 2000 gmc jimmy so 20in tall 30in wide and 38in deep thanks in advance

UM18-22 wants 10.6 cuft Sealed - that comes out to 20 x 30 x 36 so if you make it 20 x 30 x 38 with bracing you should be good for sealed.

Ported it wants around 20 cuft at something around 20 Hz tuning which comes out to around 20 x 30 x 5.5 Feet!

But if you did 10 cuft ported at 25 Hz then you'd have a boom monster and it will fit in your cargo area.
