I searched but did not find any comments on these amplifiers. While long since retired from the install bay and car audio as a business @ 14 years now. I think my new Dodge Ram quad cab deserves a better class of stereo.going to break out my 8.4lf and 2 sets of pro 6.5 comps I have been hoarding all of these years.

any thoughts on these amplifiers. or any other small efficient beasts. I know there are some better audiophile quality amps available but they would be lost on my old damaged hearing

thanks for any help

nobody ?
You might want to try PM'ing "el chupo" since he recently sold the SS1 on caraudio.com. He seemed to think highly of that amp and given a couple things I've read it's very underrated.
Thanks TS, ill actually jump in.

My SS1 was the previous design to the current SS1a. It was a sub amp, and I was using a DD S4 on my fronts. I liked the size/power ratio a lot, and it was a good clean amp - but I never put a big load on the amp.

Personally, I would have a hard time going to something like a PDX over the DD SS series, as I really like the look/quality from the DD amps I have seen - assuming the power works for your needs.

I've been considering these over the PDX and JL HD also but the one thing that has me concerned is the relatively low output of the SS4 which is only 40W/ch. I do notice that they say its class AB though. Knowing the reputation of past DD amps, I'm sure it's probably underrated and probably does fine but just the number being so low makes me concerned especially since I'm considering an 8 ohm midrange/midbass driver.

I have a local DD dealer who's worked on a couple of my cars so I'm sure I could get a decent price from him on a SS1a and SS4 combo for my car along with the support that comes with buying from a local dealer.
thanks for the feedback.

like the looks of their amps , and the 6.5 and t 1508 subs are quite appealing to me.

wonder if i can get 8 of the 1508 subs under the rear seatof my quad cab ?

( i am a 8" subwoofer terrorrist)

got a local dealer who I used to work with. i dont know if he is on here or not.

So does anybody know what MSRP are for the SS1a, SS2 and SS4 amps yet? I haven't seen it listed anywhere. Have they officially been released yet?
They are out, I found one DD dealer local and they said they could get them. They have a S4 and the matching sub amp in store.
Thanks but I know where my dealer is. I'm just out of town right now. That's why I was asking what MSRP was since I know people don't like to post actual street prices here and those prices vary by location.

If anybody knows what MSRP is and would like to share, that would be great.

8 1508 subwoofers would require about an 8 cubic foot ported box. So... I seriously doubt you could get them under your quad cab. And DDs simply do not work sealed, so don't even try.

But just three 1508s would blow your mind...and that only requires about 2.25-3.0 cubic feet ported.
1508's wont work sealed? why not? i have heard 4 sealed locally off of about 1500 rms and were still impressive and sounded good doing it.
The shop a block from me is a dd dealer. They sell a decent amount of it, it seems reliable. I could find out the prices or you could call and ask. A.C.T. Audio 860-870-7676

not afraid to cut and weld.

i tend to keep my vehicles for a while and totally use them up, so cutting in a decent tub i snot out of the possibility

also have been thinking about a fll length console from dash to back wall.

that would require me making a custom right side 40 % seat but that is pretty easy, just have to come to grips with dividing the cab,

still early in the process.
