What would you guys say would be the best setup under 100 bucks.

Criteria-Has to be new items. 6-7" mid, max mounting depth of 3.2". 1-2.5" tweeter max outer diameter, max mounting depth of 2"

Here's some that I put together, but I'd like to see some other opinions. I know the Seas/LPG combo is sweet for the price. I'm curious as to what would be good for under 100 bucks.

Some things I have came across, but have no familiarity wth any of these products.

Mids:

?

Anyone got any ideas? Or does the Seas/LPG combo for a little extra money make it unreasonable to spend less?

Silver Flute 6.5s for the mids are damn cheap too.

This would be interesting to see how this thread turns out. But honestly. For the price ($180'ish), why bother to get a better deal?

I like the Seas/LPG combo. :) Also it's already proven to sound great and recommend by so many people. If you try new drivers, you're more on your own.

Dayton Audio is your best bet... a pair of the RS180's and their neo silk domes will put you just under $100.

If it has to be under $100... yep :) It's not the greatest, but it sure beats Pioneer coaxials at the same price point.

I have these and am very very happy with them, but I'm no audiophile. I would love to hear your impression if you get them. Best I can tell you is they sound quite nice off-axis, perhaps a little unnatural but extremely detailed compared to store-bought coaxials and even my home BA A60's.

I actually have a pair of the ones on the first link... but i never installed them on my car... only listened to them at home briefly paired with the 4.5" Vifa/JBL mid free-air and the combo sounded quite nice, open sounding... and for such little $...
But i was just wondering about the gap between 2khz to 4khz between the mid and tweeter... those little tweeter doesnt play much below 4khz... and the mids playing that high up to 4khz? :?:

There will be a gap of course, but in the car for a $100 component set I just think that's a compromise that you'd have to live with. In the past I've setup many cars with Seas lotus reference and lpg 25nfa's, with the tweeter crossed at 5khz first order and the mids running wide open and it sounded pretty good.
