Hi all,
just wanted to share what i did last weekend. I have Hertz HT 28 (1.1"/ 28mm) tweeter and i was originally putting it on original tweeter location. Reading from Audiofrog article about beaming, I am determined to get tweeter on axis. I was looking at pillar A option pods and the best that i could find was the one from Germany on ebay for $75+ $20 shipping + tax and long delivery time.
Well, doing DIY and saving money are always my goal, so i was looking at Amazon and find below item. Its rear motorcycle turn signal. the opening is 50mm and my tweeter is at 48mm which is perfect sizing. I just put electrical tape around my tweeter and it fits perfectly.
anyway, I drilled another hole to mount the pod at an angle since its fixed, i could use adjustable ball mount bracket but i think i am not moving this around so i just drill new hole.
the screw to hold the pods is hollow, so i am able to get cable to get through cleanly.
Next i drilled hole on my door panel and voila. its done.
I think it looks pretty nice even though the back of the pods looks like an egg
what do you guys think? not bad for $12 + tax and 1 day shipping
