DLS a4

RMS Power Rating:
* 4 ohms: 85 watts x 4 chan.
* 2 ohms: 145 watts x 4 chan.
* 1 ohm: 220 watts x 4 chan.
* Bridged, 4 ohms: 250 watts x 2 chan.
* Bridged, 2 ohms: 400 watts x 2 chan.

soundstream HRU 4 output:

140 Watts RMS x 4 @ 4 ohms
240 Watts RMS x 4 @ 2 ohms
480 Watts RMs x 2 Bridged @ 4 ohm

the minimum requirement for the rainbow profi are atleast 75 RMS so my question is will DLS push out enough power at 4ohm to move the speakers well.

or should i go for SS HRU4. which have better output at 4 ohm.

I can't say anything about DLS, but I have HRU.4, and honestly, I'm not that impressed; it's really nice, but I think my old school PPI's play better...

The SS is not even remotely in the same class as the DLS.
Ratings are not a good judge of performance because there is no consistency and no regulations that enforce such consistency.
just take a look at the boards on ampguts and see.
I also have a used a4 and a7 I need to get rid of if price is a factor

I don't think you can go wrong here. Personally I'd go for the higher powered Soundstream. It gives you a bit more flexibility down the road and you aren't going to hear a difference. The headroom is a nice benefit too.

Downside is you better have room to mount it.

Both are great, but factor in the size. The HRU is pretty big. However, Ive owned many amps like TRU, Zapco, PPI etc eetc, and the HRU.4 is probably the best amp Ive ever owned as far as power, noise floor, and looks. Not to mention they're only $500 brand new, how much was the msrp $1800?

I don't know anything about the dls A6 other than its a mono A/B amp. I have a t1000 bdcp and it has been fantastic. Very strong, very clean, runs cool and you can get it at half the cost of the dls A6. Also under-rated, mine tested at over 1500 watts @ 2ohms.
