I have a 98 cadillac Deville... Im wanting to install a set of components in each door (2 tweeters and 2 5.25 woofers) Iv never used fiber glass before, and dont think I would be too comfy trying just yet... Any recommendations for me?
Depends on how extreme you want to go. I had a old '92 Grand Prix in which(although it sounded good, for some reason I don't understand, sounded good) I cut 6.5" holes in my door panels and mounted my speaker to it. I had very good mid bass but the install looked kinda half-ass. On my new car and system I am going for something more professional looking. You could still cut the hole and mount the speaker to the interior door frame and put a grill on the door trim. It would look better but you need to make sure that A. You have room behind the speaker for the window and B. Your speakers are shallow mount enough to fit between the interior metal frame of the door and exterior metal of the door.
