The download link was posted on the Audiotec-Fischer site... and then quickly removed.

They removed it..... When I clicked on the link, and then try to download, I was taken to a 404 page....

I have the Helix Ultra S, so I was really hoping to get a look at it....

Small technical issues found prompted its removal… sorry guys… nearly ready 🙈 I may be able to share screenshots today… I had some lined up last week… but had to keep them under my hat 🤫🤐

It looks like Arc Audio PS8/12/16-PRO workflow from left to right.

And like Arc Audio, it now have datalogger.

Other than that, I don't see anything new.
So aside from the whole layout, input eq, data logging… nothing has changed… you’re a hard audience 😂 some features still aren’t active…

did arc copy helix by bringing out a decent market worthy Dsp years ago? Of course commonality’s are to be found…

disac 2 still will come for Brax rx2 users with digital input cards (not arc)

The advanced tuning wizard (not arc)

The advanced gain setting tool is also new (not arc)

optimise eq (not arc)

plus a lot of other things in the post 😉

Yep. I downloaded the software this morning and messed around with it a bit. For the most part, nothing major has changed (which is fine). Layout is more logical now.

The file structure has changed. So it appears you cannot simply load your old (version 5) tune file onto this new Version 6. I had to setup a new configuration from scratch, which took about 30 minutes. Not a big deal.

I have a few meetings this morning. But plan to load the new software onto my P-Six Ultimate later today. Will advise how that goes…

OK. I've loaded the new software onto my Helix P-Six Ultimate... no issues.

As mentioned above, I did have to recreate everything from scratch, as the old Version 5 files don't transfer to the new software. However, as @dumdum also mentioned, they are working on this and in subsequent updates, you should be able to import your Version 5 tune file. At this time (for me) this isn't a big deal, as I am about to do a full fresh tune in the vehicle (well... AudioGal is going to do it). For this process, I only had to recreate the Input / Output structure, as well as the basic crossover points.

I'm not sure if my ears are playing tricks on me... but I swear the overall sound is slightly 'crisper' than before. The clarity just sounds a bit sharper. I could be wrong... but that's what I'm hearing in my initial listening experience.
@dumdum is this a figment of my imagination? Or has Audiotec-Fischer done some wizardry to improve the overall sound quality?

So not sure if you worked this out… when you upgrade from pct5 to pct6 the files existing in the Dsp are saved and converted to a new set of files to be loaded back in

what I did was create a folder specifically for pct6 configuration, then point the ‘save config’ process to that… it then created .pct6 files for the old setups and numbers them also with the preset number

in my case I only had a single setup… but you can load and save/write ten setup files to the Dsp before upgrading and it will then save those ten as .pct6 files to load back in and then save to the Dsp

it’s a little late after the software has been installed to know this, but hopefully can avoid some headaches in the future 👍🏼

Nope… no wizardry… that’s your ears playing tricks sadly
OK.
But I swear it does sound different... The overall Gain is definitely a bit lower (maybe 3dB lower output).
And I'm certain I'm hearing a bit more 'crispness'. But perhaps the output on the tweeters is higher.
I dunno... I'm just reporting what I'm hearing.

Yes I figured this out, after I had recreated the entire I/O and crossover structure... oh well.

Thanks for your input. Overall, the new software is an improvement.
It's like anything... just takes a bit of time and usage to get used to where things are located now.

potentially it may be the new feature which nescesitates the change of gain structure, it may be that louder in some channels sounds different incase limits are near and met in some channels post import

'Note: The introduction of a revised output limiter in brick-wall style may result in a different gain control. After importing a DSP sound setup that was created with DSP PC-Tool 4 or DSP PC-Tool 5, it is essential to check the gain structure '

Did anybody else have issues with not being able to use subwoofer volume control after turning the car off and back on? Also, all of the FX features are set to disabled but as soon as I turn the car off and back on then they are all acting as though they are enabled. I know it is beta, so it may have bugs. Mine is a mini dsp mk2 and I downloaded yesterday.

Version 5 was released today.

Honestly, I have had ZERO issues with DSP Tool-6, since the initial release. I'm using a P-Six Ultimate.
  • Version 1 had a few bugs, and was scrapped by Audiotec-Fischer within a few hours.
  • Version 2 came out the next day, and I downloaded and installed it right away. Worked perfectly for me.
  • Version 3 came out about a week later. I never used this version.
  • Version 4 came out another week later. I downloaded it and have it on my unit now. Works flawlessly.
  • Version 5 was released today. But I have no reason to try it. Nothing new that affects / improves the P-Six.

May have been a bug in .05… I have opened both files in 6.01.06 and the .afpx in pc tool 5 and all show up as -7 and -5db on the first two channels 👍🏼

dragging the .afpx into 6.01.06 also imports to pc tool 6 correctly with the same values for channel level 👍🏼
Tried it out today! It's working great although I wasn't able to get autoeq working. auto keeps cycling through measurements without creating any iterations.

Tune eq works for the most part but when I click match to channel curve it doesn't apply the HP/LP slopes to the target curve
Auto eq? Do you mean the tune to target? I’m unsure if all the features are fully working yet 👍🏼

as for high pass and low pass, ensure channel filter target has a cross in it like so…

but I can’t make it work in my pc in demo mode, I’ll drop the guys a message 👍🏼

Target mode is supposed to apply the crossover slopes to the target curve so you can match the response to the chosen HP/LP curves
I know what it’s meant to do 😉 I’ve reported it back to AF 👍🏼

what do you mean by ‘auto eq’

you said

“Tried it out today! It's working great although I wasn't able to get autoeq working. auto keeps cycling through measurements without creating any iterations”

auto eq was an ancient version of tune eq… and not in pc tool 6

Tune eq doesn’t cycle through as such, just does a single measurement, so I was trying to ask what you were referring to… did you mean tune to target as that would be logical with you saying it cycles through measurements?

or do you mean you tried tune eq multiple times and it cycled through the tune eq calculation without setting any bands?

Auto eq is supposed to keep adjusting the eq while you do the moving mic method but it's currently measuring the average response without applying any eq adjustments.

I was trying to use it on the virtual channels to match the L/R response to the reference curve
Auto set is prehistoric vs tune eq, I didn’t even realise it was still a thing, just use tune eq for virtual channels by selecting virtual channels in the channel select pane

from memory auto set doesn’t adjust anything on the fly as you wave the mic, it works the exact same as tune eq and you click the ‘autoset’ button after the measurement counter has stopped to set 1/3 octave eq not parametric
