I've been trying to adjust my output sensitivity for each channel group (1/2, 3/4, 5/6) but when I choose to change one group from say 1.0 to 2.0, all channels end up changing as well.

This also occurs when I change each channel individually...

Is this normal? I want each channel group to be something different if possible. In fact, I think that should be a given....I hope I'm just being stupid




EDIT: I should mention I have only one input at the moment for signal source, "1/2 IN"....can that be the reason?

Whoa, ok, I read the manual. It states to set the channel output sensitivity for "maximum signal with minimum noise."

Then it states "After the sensitivity has been set at optimum for all channels you can balance the channels by attenuating the output of the louder channels to bring all channels into correct acoustic balance."

So, do I keep each channel pair the same sensitivity and then take the louder pair and attenuate them to -12db's? Then if I still have discrepencies, adjust gains on the amps?

I am not sure how to answer you question with the output for all channels I am only running a dc1100.1 right now My dsp6 is not hooked up yet.

I am wandering if I will have a similar problem when I run just optical cable from hu to dsp6.

How ever I wanted to mention that in the dc amps the sensitivity is pretty much the gain on the amps so if you use the dsp6 you can adjust it on there instead of using your amp gains to not cause distortion. Which is what I believe. I had a problem with distortion today so what I did was set the sldin-t.f to +12db then set the sensitivity to 10 and left it there ran a 50 hz tone wo see my how high my volume could go before it started clipping on the sldin. It started at 31 so I keep my volume at 30 now and my max is 35. look at it from that point of view. Then it should sound great.

Edit: you can still cause distortion by setting the sensitivity to high on the dsp-6 but you can adjust that I was just saying that you wont be hurting the other amps by turning the gain up and using the dsp6 instead making the amps more efficient

I believe it might be that one input but I am not sure someone one else had this same problem recently his name was Fiercetimbo17

That's your gain control. And like a solid state input section on a multi-channel amp you can't adjust gain separately if you only use one set of inputs.

Once you set the gain you use the level control on the bottom right (over by the bass boost control) to set the individual channel or channel pair levels.

Wow, I don't know why that didn't click in my head....I was too focused on sensitivity. Your correct, and there is indeed an output level adjustable from 0db to ~ -100 db's on the bottom right, next to phase.

I know, I felt the exact same way when I figured it out. It was REALLY pissing me off. I DID find out you can adjust L/R gains separately if you go to channels 1/3/5 or 2/4/6 and adjust that one side it'll change everything else on that side. Pretty neat.

The one thing I can't make it do yet is accept a crossover value that's not on the drop down box. Rob said all you have to do is type it in but it's not working for me.

Pretty much. Think of the DCs like an electronic crossover with a gain on the input and an output level adjustment.

I think so...I might have just been tabbing out but the value stays in until I save it and then it reverts. I'll try "enter".
