What crossovers are popular with the group? I'm not currently interested in the Behringer, just the usual 12 volt solutions. (preferably something that shows up on ebay from time to time)

old coustic xm stuff has worked great for me....xm3, xm5, and xm7 depending on what you need....

also....audiocontrols stuff has also served me well....2xs, 3xs, 4xs, 24xs....

Intrested in the same, been looking for a XM7 for a little now, and they look to be rare as it is......havn't seen one for sale yet that i could get ahold of.......Would like to find one myself. Or dish out 250 or so for the DCX2496 which may be my last option. Or first if you look at price to performance ratio's.

If not using an outboard processor, I always recommend using a headunit like Pioneer, Alpine, etc. Best bang for the buck Imho, and very convenient.

Or use the crossovers on your amplifier...

i miss having my alpine 9815 and the 4th orders built in on my rockford amps....was easy to configure....

damn cell phone bills.

I think I'm going back to Behringer. I just picked up a Concept 97.2 and a brand new XM6, now I have to sell them. The 1 piece processor convenience wins for me.

Just waiting on a GOOD power supply. Hint Hint.

Alas, my 9 year old Sony HU does not have crossover capability. My cheap nature generally makes it impossible for me to retire hardware that is still working..

My Pioneer GM-X304 crosses at 80 hz only - again with the old hardware! Of course this is all in a 19 year old rusty car too...

What HU with crossover capability are currently popular?

I'm using a TRU F-2A 5 way crossover.

I use a PPI X3 Active Crossover. It does 3 way and has a nice sub volume external "remote".

86mr2 : Holy crap a Pioneer GM-X304? Is that 30watts x 4 @ 4ohm or 80 x 2 @ 4ohm bridged or something like that? I think I used to have a GM-X302 back in 97, it was my first amp! I used to use that to run some Pioneer subs I bought. Then later on it went to power some rear speakers back when I used to amp the rear speakers and ran the front off the head unit... haha so young and ignorant on how to set up a system properly.

Yep, same amp. but it is 70X2 bridged. Bought it off Ebay to fuel my 20 year old car, old driver, old hu, how good can this sound? project.

I'm faced with questions like, do I toss my 20 year old Alphasonic 6" sub with rotted surround, or buy a new surround and fix it? I just have a soft spot in my head -er -heart for old hardware that is just sitting around gathering dust.

I'm not always sensible, but I am tenacious. I spent 20 years trying to beat the tinworm in my Porshe 914. I only gave up when the patches I welded in rusted away!!!
