Hi,
one of my friends has bought the JBL's and this is what recommended in the manual for the woofers:

"The 660gti woofer may be used in an infinitie baffle or in a small sealed enclosure with a volume equal to or larger than 1.8 ft³."

is that size really small?! do you think IB is the way to go for the 6.5's?

Use IB, Not that is not small @ 1.8cuft per driver. Just think about a sub for a 12" most use 1cuft. I am sure if you run the numbers the 1.8cuft per driver equals IB when you multiple the vas.

Use IB. I wrote the manual. The 1.8 cu. ft. box makes a nice home speaker. We've designed the speaker so that it works in cars with a minimum of hassle. Building door boxes is NOT minimum hassle.
