hOhOhO!!! Nice to meet everybody
Here and there I've messaged some of the members and they've been a great help. Anyways, I thought I would post for the first time so don't smack me around too much.
It seems like every day I learn about twice what I knew the day before. Prior to getting into this my only knowledge was based on what I saw my older brother put together while getting through high school. I fondly remember him using A/D/S 325is in my beretta
So that's the basis for the new install. Looking at it now, I'm kind of unhappy with the money spent on components vs. what I could have...none the less, trial and error is golden...so I'm gonna push forward.
System components thus far:
Alpine 9887 -- the only item installed at this point
SAX-100.4D -- Sundown Audio = good people
Cadence TXA-750D & 3002 -- WRX/Z28...stand up guy!!!! Thanks for all the help up to this point. I grabbed these from him
AES 10" Subs -- same as http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/member-product-reviews/51256-aes-10-subwoofer-budget-sq.html
Subs were also bought from WRX, he's been great to buy from
Front Speakers -- 346cs
Rear "Fill" -- 325is. I read a thread by werewolf and wanna use that R+L+/R-L- technique.
Initially, since I'm new I figured passive. Well, after installing the 9887 and began playing with TA, L/R, L=R, and other parameters I'm realizing that I would love to go active
Factory speakers sound better than ever.
But I'm in it this far...so I'm gonna keep on truckin. However, keeping with passive x-overs doesn't seem to be a huge issue and I was thinking of adding an Audiocontrol EQL between the 9887 and amps
Good idea?
I seem to have quite a few options with the equipment I've purchased. I need to finish the install and hear it already. The options are driving me crazy
At a later date I can always switch the system over to active but I think I will see decent results with what I have.
Btw, SAX-100.4 will power 346 & 325 while TXA-3002 will power the subs. Subs are in ~.7 cubic enclosure(per side) prior to loading.
That's it. So far, I'd like to say thanks to the forum, you guys are a great bunch.
Any tips, comments, or criticism are very much welcomed whether it's install or choice of product.
